Roberto MAQUEDA

Born in Spain, Roberto is a percussionist interested in development of new speeches in new contexts. He studied in the last years with Christian Dierstein as well as with the improvisator Fred Frith. In the most recent time, Roberto is starting to be tutored by Håkon Stene.

His most outstanding projects are reConvert project, a percussion duo with Víctor Barceló, with whom he shares a philosophy of work. As well he is developing a “new-concept” ensemble called Y-Band and a solo project commissioning new pieces for percussion and media- installations, expandING_percussion.
